THE COMPANY

Founded by producer Lynn Booth in 1999 Make Believe Media has established a reputation as a documentary film company with vision, integrity and fresh ideas. Our previous films include Culture Jam (with Reel Myth Productions) Mandrake: A Magical Life, The Perfect Husband: Life and Times of Tim Horton, Pretty Boys, The Whistleblower (with Top Secret Films), CD Hoy: Portraits From The Frontier, I Want a Woman, Bump and Grind, Secrets: A Parents Guide to the Teenage Sexual Revolution, and Paris Stories: The Writing of Mavis Gallant.

We have just completed the documentary CORPORATIONS IN THE CLASSROOM, directed by Jill Sharpe for Global Currents, the second season of the 1-hour true-crime documentary series VERY BAD MEN, and the first season of the innovative true crime meets graphic novel 13 x 30 min documentary series TRUE PULP MURDER. We are now in production on the 13 x 30 HD series, THE SECRET HISTORY OF TELEVISION and in development on THE IMMORTALS. New series in development include CHANNELING CELEBRITIES, CONFESSIONS (6 by 1 hour) and season three of VERY BAD MEN.

Our filmmaking partners include CanWest MediaWorks Inc, BC Film, CBC, CTV, APTN, Vision, Bravo!, Knowledge Network, Telefilm, Oasis International, Buzztaxi, Filmoption International, TVF International, Rogers Telefund, the CIFVF Fund and the most talented creative and production teams in the West.

Our films have been sold and broadcast in over twenty territories and we continue to develop international partnerships. We are committed to the future of independent production in Canada.
